Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by difficulties in social communication, restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. Early diagnosis of ASD is crucial for the development of effective interventions; however, challenges in early diagnosis in children within the elementary school age group remain significant. This article reviews the main diagnostic techniques for ASD, analyzes the difficulties encountered, and discusses advancements in the early recognition of this condition, with an emphasis on children entering elementary education.
