Abstract

This article analyzes the influence of coaching practices on the performance and quality of care of hospital teams, aiming to understand how this management tool impacts leadership and patient safety. It is a bibliographic research, narrative in nature and qualitative in approach, carried out through data collection in the Google Scholar, SciELO, and CAPES Journals databases. The selection of works followed a time frame from 2015 to 2025, prioritizing articles in Portuguese and English that addressed the relationship between leadership and competency development. The results demonstrate that the transition from an authoritarian management model to coaching leadership favors the development of behavioral skills, such as emotional intelligence and assertive communication, essential for group cohesion. The analysis confirms the hypothesis that the support offered by the leader-coach increases the resilience of professionals, reduces absenteeism, and minimizes care errors. The study concludes that the application of these techniques is fundamental for the humanization of the work environment, promoting autonomy, engagement, and consequently, safer and more efficient care.
