Educational Psychology: foundations for a transformative pedagogical practice

Abstract

This article, developed within the scope of the Educational Psychology course in the Mathematics program at the University of Passo Fundo (UPF), integrates theories of human development with critical pedagogical practices. Drawing on foundational thinkers such as Piaget, Vygotsky, and Freud, as well as the analysis of documentaries and television series, it explores how the classroom can be transformed into a space of pedagogical resistance. The methodology comprised theoretical readings, audiovisual analysis, and practical reflection. The findings indicate that affective bonds, qualified mediation, active methodologies, and empathetic listening are essential components of an inclusive, meaningful, and transformative education.
