Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal condition in women of reproductive age, characterized by genetic and environmental factors such as insulin resistance and obesity, which cause symptoms like infertility and hirsutism. The diagnosis is made through clinical criteria and tests, and treatment involves medications and dietary adjustments. This study is a literature review that evaluates the impact of nutrition on controlling the symptoms of PCOS. The research analyzed articles from 2002 to 2025, focusing on the influence of diet on insulin resistance and hormonal problems. The results show that a balanced diet, rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, calcium, and omega-3, can improve insulin resistance and regulate hormone levels. Supplements such as CoQ10 and vitamin E, along with herbs like cinnamon and green tea, also help in managing the syndrome. In conclusion, an appropriate nutritional approach can reduce the symptoms of PCOS and improve the quality of life for affected women.
