Neurofunctional Physioterapy: an approach to improve care for patients with parkinson’s disease

Abstract

Objective: Analyze the available scientific evidence on the effectiveness of physiotherapy in the treatment and management of Parkinson's disease. The review seeks to synthesize and evaluate the different approaches, techniques and physiotherapy interventions used, considering the variation in the stages of the disease, and discuss the impact of these approaches on improving the symptoms, functionality and quality of life of patients with Parkinson's. Results: The research highlighted the importance of conventional physiotherapy and innovative approaches, such as treadmill training, kinesiotherapy, and visual cue gait training. These therapies have shown significant improvements in functional capacity and quality of life for patients. Individualization of treatment is crucial to optimizing therapeutic outcomes. Conclusion: Investing in specialized physiotherapy programs can enhance care and independence for patients with Parkinson's and other neurodegenerative conditions.
