Clinical aspects and diagnosis of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Abstract

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition that affects millions of people worldwide. This study aims to investigate the clinical aspects and diagnosis of OCD, considering its prevalence, manifestations, and impact on patients' quality of life. The research was conducted through a systematic review of the literature, covering recent articles and studies that discuss the diagnosis and treatment of OCD. The results indicate that OCD is characterized by obsessions and compulsions that can significantly interfere with individuals' daily activities. Additionally, the analysis reveals that the clinical approach should include a combination of cognitive and pharmacological therapies for better symptom management. The conclusions highlight the need for greater awareness of OCD and the importance of early diagnosis to improve the quality of life for those affected.
