Endocarditis is an infection of the inner lining of the heart, usually caused by bacteria, and represents a critical condition due to its significant morbidity and mortality. This article provides a comprehensive review of the current literature on endocarditis, addressing its epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment. The analysis was based on peer-reviewed articles, academic books, and recent clinical guidelines. Endocarditis continues to be a significant challenge for cardiovascular health, with severe implications for patient health. Despite advances in diagnostic and treatment strategies, the high rate of complications and the need for early interventions highlight the importance of a detailed understanding of the disease. The article concludes that continuous efforts are needed to improve the management and prevention of endocarditis.
