Abstract

This paper presents and discusses Husserl's phenomenology of fantasy, primarily as described in volume XXIII of Husserliana. First, we address the quasi-actuality of fantasy. Second, we investigate some features of image consciousness. Next, we examine the embodiment of the perceptual features of the object in fantasy. In the second part of the article, which is its main section, we present the theory of the phantom. The following section discusses sensation as a phantom. Finally, we conclude with the last two sections: the phantom as a modified and reproduced moment, and the vivacity of the phantom. In conclusion, we emphasize the great relevance of the topic under analysis because Husserl, in the face of the advancement of phenomenology, was always concerned with writing about and grounding a science, without neglecting, of course, the importance of studies on fantasy.
