Abstract

Traumatic emergencies represent one of the greatest demands on health services, requiring quick and effective responses to guarantee the survival of patients. These situations, often related to traffic accidents, violence or falls, require healthcare teams, made up of doctors, nurses and technicians, to act with precision. However, the proper management of these emergencies faces significant challenges, such as a shortage of resources, poor communication and emotional pressure, all of which have a direct impact on the quality of care. This study aimed to analyze, through the scientific literature, the challenges faced by healthcare teams in the management of traumatic emergencies, based on the perspectives of the healthcare team. This is an integrative literature review. Studies published between 2020 and 2024 were selected from scientific databases such as PubMed, Scopus and LILACS. The data was analyzed qualitatively, identifying the main obstacles, such as lack of training and limited resources. The scarcity of equipment and high demand in emergency services, especially in more peripheral regions, compromises the effectiveness of care. Inadequate communication between team members and the psychological stress of professionals were also highlighted as factors that hinder the necessary rapid response. The results indicate that the management of traumatic emergencies involves not only technical skills, but also the efficient management of time and resources. The implementation of clear protocols and continuous training are essential to improve team performance, as well as psychological support to reduce the emotional impact.
