Introduction: Liver cirrhosis, the final stage of chronic liver disease, is characterized by fibrosis and portal hypertension, resulting in serious complications such as hepatic encephalopathy and fluid and electrolyte imbalances. Given this, the Systematization of Nursing Care (SAE) stands out as an essential tool for individualized and continuous care, promoting an integrated approach for patients with liver cirrhosis due to HCV. Methodology: Descriptive study, experience report type, carried out in May 2023 in a public teaching hospital in the northeast, based on the Systematization of Nursing Care (SAE). Clinical and sociodemographic data were collected and used to identify diagnoses (NANDA-I), plan interventions (NIC) and evaluate results (NOC). Results and Discussion: Male patient, 59 years old, with a history of hypothyroidism, liver cirrhosis due to HCV and grade II hepatic encephalopathy. He complained of slow movement, slurred speech and lower limb edema. Diagnoses and interventions were focused on the patient's clinical condition. Conclusion: SAE stands out as a fundamental tool for improving the quality of care, planning specific interventions based on the patient's needs. In the case of liver cirrhosis caused by HCV, understanding the clinical manifestations allows us to predict risks and intervene appropriately.
