Abstract

The therapeutic use of cannabis has shown promise in managing patients with chronic pain, a debilitating condition that negatively affects quality of life. This study aimed to analyze the benefits, limitations, and implications of cannabis use in chronic pain relief through a systematic literature review. The methodology involved searching scientific databases for publications from the last 10 years, prioritizing randomized clinical trials and meta-analyses. Results indicated that while cannabis effectively reduces pain intensity in many cases, significant variations in patient response and potential adverse effects were observed. The conclusion emphasizes the need for further controlled studies considering specific dosages and drug interactions. This study contributes to advancing the discussion on incorporating cannabis-based therapies into clinical practice.
