COVID-19 is responsible for developing viral pneumonia and coronavirus acute respiratory failure syndrome 2 (SARS-COV-2). Therefore, a cross-sectional study was carried out, based on data collected from medical records in a pulmonology office, with the purpose of evaluating the signs and symptoms of post-covid syndrome. For statistical analysis, the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows, version 26.0, was used. From the results analyzed, it was evident that a set of symptoms persisted in patients for at least 6 months, which include asthenia, flu-like symptoms, dyspnea, sleep disorders, weight loss, cognitive disorders and several others. Therefore, it appears that the symptoms that persist, even after the individuals recover, are due to the pro-inflammatory effects of the viral infection. Furthermore, it should be noted that patients who presented a more severe condition during active infection are those who have a greater chance of developing the sequelae of post-COVID-19 syndrome.
