Abstract

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a complex condition characterized by marked instability in emotions, interpersonal relationships, and self-image. This review examines the clinical features of BPD, its possible causes, diagnosis, and treatment options. Key symptoms are highlighted, including intense fear of abandonment, impulsive behaviors, and difficulties in emotional regulation. The study also addresses the influence of genetic, neurobiological, and environmental factors on the development of the disorder. Additionally, different therapeutic methods are discussed, including psychotherapy and pharmacological interventions, highlighting the most effective approaches. This review aims to provide a comprehensive and updated perspective on BPD, integrating data from recent research for a deeper understanding of the disorder.
