Cutaneous fungal infections, such as tinea corporis, have become a significant challenge in dermatological practice, particularly due to the increasing antifungal resistance. This study aims to explore the factors influencing treatment efficacy and the quality of life of patients affected by this condition. The research was conducted through an integrative literature review, utilizing databases such as MEDLINE, LILACS, and BDENF, and following the PICO strategy to outline key questions. The analysis included articles published between 2018 and 2024, resulting in the selection of 10 relevant studies. The findings indicate that both terbinafine and itraconazole exhibit variable efficacy in the treatment of tinea corporis, with significant implications for clinical practice. Moreover, antifungal resistance is a growing concern that requires special attention. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the need for individualized therapeutic approaches and the importance of future research on new treatment strategies and management of tinea corporis.
